Beautiful minimalist wall or ceiling lamp Model 232 designed by Bruno Gatta for Stilnovo, Italy 1954. The lamp has an ivory white lacquered shade and a black enameled stem and an ivory white wall mount shade and features original black screws. The large ivory white shade diffuses a soft indirect light. The lamp is in very good and original condition. Italian lighting manufacturer Stilnovo was founded in 1946 by designer Bruno Gatta in Lainate, an industrial suburb of Milan. After World War II, Italy was focused on rebuilding under conditions of scarcity. With Stilnovo, Bruno Gatta dedicated himself to the production of innovative lighting that embodied rationalist form-follows-function principles.
