The back is covered with Plano fabric, also in black (nero). The side profiles, armrests, clamps and base are made of die-cast aluminum, chrome-plated.
The Soft Pad Chair is height-adjustable, swivels and has a tilting mechanism. It is in exceptionally good condition with minimal signs of use typical of its age, which you can see from the extensive product images. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and has a manufacturer's certificate from Vitra and hard floor castors. The gas pressure spring is intact. Only the plastic cover of the adjustment handle for setting the tilt angle is missing. However, this has no effect on functionality.
The Soft Pad Chairs were designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1969 and are considered one of the most important designs of the 20th century. They are similar in construction and shape to the aluminum chairs, but are softer and more voluptuous and adapt to the body. The chair is ideal as an office chair for prestigious offices or the stylish home office.
