Rare XXL double-sided industrial T&N clock from Berlin, Germany. T&N stands for 'Telefonbau und Normalzeit' Lehner & CO (also referred to as Tele Norma). The clock dates from the 1960s, has a diameter of no less than 100 cm and is two-sided! According to the chairman of the T&N Freundeskreis in Erfurt, this is a 1960s 'Nebenuhr': a Berlin city clock or a clock from (the production hall of) a large business building. At the time, a 'Nebenuhr' (or 'Slave Clock') was part of a network of clocks that were controlled with electrical pulses from one specific location by a central master or master clock (such as the old blue T&N station clocks of the NS, which were centrally served from several major stations). This clock can be read on two sides and has glass dials and lighting on both sides. The dials are in excellent condition except for a few small spots. The two glass plates on the outside are completely intact and clear. One glass plate is also the door to the interior. The metal gold-colored house is in good vintage condition. The interior has been adjusted by a clockmaker. Two so-called 'pulse generators' have been installed that actually take over the role of the former master clock. As a result, the clock now works independently. The pulse generator works on batteries that are easy to replace. To adjust the time, for example when setting summer or winter time, press the button on the pulse generator. A short manual is included. The lighting of the clock consists of two small fluorescent tubes that operate on the regular power supply (220V) and can be replaced quickly and easily in the event of a defect. Thanks to the cream-colored glass dials, the clock emits a warm and soft light, so you can also use it as a floor lamp! The dials have been turned a quarter turn by the clockmaker. As a result, the clock now 'stands' on its facade plate. So now you simply place it on a floor, platform or cupboard. A very catchy object for a pub, restaurant, shop, hall, company or - if you have a large room - your house! Dimensions: D(iameter) clock = 100 cm, H (incl. base plate) 112 cm, D = 32 cm.You will find some scratches on the cast iron edge. Some missing coating on the glass dials (inside).
