Beautiful Color Offset lithograph by Rene Magritte Size sheet 60 x 45 cm in new condition. When René Magritte was thirteen years old in 1912, his mother was pulled dead from the river Sambre. She had plunged into the water with a cloth in front of her forehead. Several times in his work he refers to this tragedy with illustrations of a woman whose face is covered. Magritte had two brothers: Raymond and Paul. In his youth, Magritte displayed sadistic behavior toward animals. He starved a donkey and tormented cats and dogs[1].
