Design Paul Kingma
This is a very nice early example of a square Paul Kingma coffee table. Paul Kingma is known for his architectural tables. It is a monumental table and work of art combined in 1.
Paul Kingma combined materials that are also used in architecture, such as stone, metal and concrete. All his tables are unique, one-off productions and when he became famous, most tables were made to order by himself in his studio in The Hague.
This table is a fine example of this with sober stone tiles combined with natural stone in various colors laid in concrete. The table has a floating top above a black painted metal slipper frame.
Marked with signature
This is a very early table when he started making tables in 1960. It is marked Kingma 1963 on the back and has the familiar handprint. There is a signature on a brass plate on the top of the coffee table.
This unique coffee table is in original and very good condition for its age, but may show some signs of age and use.
VT living fair
At the 2022 VT-Wonen fair, a similar table by Paul Kingma was presented in the VT-wonen house.
