This is a beautiful, large mouth-blown vase of olive green glass with a simple stylized bottle shape. Otto Brauer (1911-1984) signed for the design. He was one of the leading Danish glass designers of the 20th century and best known for this "Gulvvase" (Floor Vase), made in series for the Kastrup Holmegaard company. This is a rare specimen in the largest size, about 52 cm high and about 20 cm diameter.
The first years the bottles came only with single-colored glass such as olive green, but also brown, dark blue and white. In the 1970s they were launched with a white inner layer and a colored outer layer and other colors such as red.
The vase of solid glass is still in good condition, no chips or cracks. However, you can see air bubbles, which confirms that the glass is mouth blown. Due to its fragility, this vase can only be picked up in Gorinchem.
