Monica Backström (1939–2020) has designed many classics for the Swedish glassworks in Boda and Kosta. One of the most well-known series is the chicken family from the 1970s. It consists of four figurines: Two hens ”Laura” of different sizes, one rooster, and one chick. The rounded birds were hand-blown with added parts, and then rolled in polychrome glass powder.
This Laura is the largest one. Heartwarming Swedish design from the legendary glass artist! This object appears in the Boda guide to Monica’s artistry, as shown in one of the photo's.
