Lorenzo Padilla Díaz was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Cuba in the city of Matanzas. He graduated from the Tarascó Academy in 1957. With the title of professor of drawing and painting, and for his results, he received a scholarship to study at the Prado Art Museum, in Madrid. He later moved to Paris, where he continued his artistic life. He has received several awards and recognitions, such as Distinguished Son of the City of Matanzas, in 1990; the Distinction for National Culture, 2006; and the French Senate Medal in 2012
