The battle at Waterloo. This fountain is full of Napoleon's French soldiers who slowly disappear into the water. The story tells that when Napoleon passed through the Land of Ever with his army, some of the soldiers were enchanted and petrified into statues. Since then, they have guarded the land they once wanted to fight for.
Traveling and photographing with a fascination for abandoned architecture and faded glory, Jef Peeters seeks and explores lost and forgotten places to be rediscovered. He captures the soul and forgotten stories and turns them into narrative images.
