Due to the construction of the underlying highway tunnel, a new church was built a little higher up and it was put on hold in 1959. The church tower is nevertheless a rare Romanesque bell tower with terracotta from Liguria. Despite years of decay and enduring a few earthquakes, the tower is still standing. As straight as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
