Henny van Oosten is a versatile artist. She was born in the Netherlands in 1934 but has also lived and worked in Africa and Latin America, where she also received part of her education. Back in the Netherlands she followed many studies in her field. She makes beautiful sculptures from wood, clay and several natural materials. She makes special colorful paintings. She lives and works in Oegstgeest, where she is well known. She exhibits not only in the Netherlands, but also in neighboring countries. This wooden statue was made between 1995-2000. The 'dancer' stands on a pedestal, also made of wood and painted black, and has a special layer of paint so that she radiates in 'gold'. Those are characteristics of her works. There is strength. This dancer is unique.
