According to a report in the IJmuider Courant of Monday, June 16, 1958, the West German canoe team achieved the expected victory in the three-country canoe competition at De Bosbaan in Amsterdam. At that time, the Netherlands, Belgium and West Germany regularly organized sporting competitions because of their rivalry. This historic canoe competition on the Bosbaan remains an annual national event. In addition, this course is known to the general public for the spectacular international rowing competitions, such as the World Cup competitions, that take place there.
