The British aircraft manufacturer Hawker gained particular renown for its fighter planes. In the 1940s, the lightweight aluminum material used experienced a boom, and the shiny metallic surface of thin, riveted aluminum sheets was very popular. Hawker therefore also produced furniture in the mid-1940s.
