Looking for a new support for my paintings, sometime in 2001 I ended up at the infra company in our village where I bought pieces of heavily rusted steel plate. On these I made the abstract representation in acrylic (ca. 250 x 350 mm).
Wonderful to work purely by feeling with color and form. The biggest challenge is often the moment of stopping. One stroke too many with the roller or brush and your picture can be totally ruined. After about twenty years, I digitally edited a photograph of the painting. Signed with my digital signature H&K (Henk). Completed the edit on August 12, 2022. The graphic drawing is a vector file and can be printed meters in size without the lines becoming grainy. In January 2024, I had the work printed on dibond (aluminum) and then cast in concrete in my mobile workshop. Actually, it is masonry mortar because there is no gravel in it. The work is too fine for that. Dimensions box 75 x 75 x 24 mm. It is made of sturdy cardboard. In the box the qr-code to the video with the making process.
It took some trial copies before I was satisfied with the result. But now it is a winner.
