CHRISTO (Gabrovo 1935 - New York 2020) Visual artist Education: Christo studied art in Sofia and Vienna Lived and worked in America Christo, whose real name is Christo Vladimirov Javacheff, has been a well-known artist born in Bulgaria for many years. Christo always worked together with his wife Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon. The two were always mentioned together, and they worked together until Jeanne-Claude passed away in 2009. Christo's talent was discovered in his younger years by the artists who visited his mother's home. From the year 1972, the couple worked exclusively with the photographer Wolfgang Volz. Some of Christo's great and well-known works include Valley Curtain and Running Fence. In 1995, the couple received permission to wrap the Reichstag in Berlin.
